The City of Guthrie Center is located in west-central Iowa, approximately 45 miles west of the Des Moines metro. At the time of the 2020 census, the population was 1,593 residents. The city serves as the county seat of Guthrie County and is overseen by a mayor and five-person council. Day-to-day operations are run by the city administrator and staff.
The city council meets the second and fourth Mondays of each month at 6:30 p.m. at City Hall. To be listed on the agenda, please contact City Hall before 9 a.m. the Friday before the meeting.
